Votive candles are an inexpensive way to add style and scent to your home decor. Although many people will just light a candle and watch it burn, there are steps you need to take to make sure you get the most out of your votive candles.

How to use:
Purchase a votive holder that is as close to the size of your votive candle as possible.
Put a small amount of water in the bottom of the votive holder. Place the votive candle in the container. This will allow you to easily remove the votive candle once it is no longer usable.
Trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch.
Light the candle and burn it for at least 1 hour, but not longer than 4 hours.

Votive candles look right at home among larger candles or as part of a candle arrangement, and can also shine on their own when grouped or placed appropriately.
